2007-P Jamestown Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar
Issued by the United States Mint in 2007 to celebrate the 400th anniversary of the founding of the Jamestown colony was the 2007-P Jamestown Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar.

These coins were authorized by the Jamestown 400th Anniversary Commemorative Coin Act of 2004 (Public Law 108-289), along with proof version of the same design and two gold coins. A surcharge placed on the sale of each of these coins was forwarded to several groups to aid in the promotion and understanding of the former colony.
Each of these coins is struck from 90% silver and 10% copper to a diameter of 1.5 inches
2007 Jamestown Coins
Four coins were struck in 2007 to celebrate the founding of Jamestown in 1607. These coins were:
- 2007-W $5 Jamestown Commemorative Proof Gold Coin
- 2007-W $5 Jamestown Commemorative Uncirculated Gold Coin
- 2007-P Jamestown Commemorative Proof Silver Dollar
- 2007-P Jamestown Commemorative Uncirculated Silver Dollar
Surcharges were added to the sale of each of these coins with the raised funds forwarded to the Jamestown-Yorktown Foundation of the Commonwealth of Virginia, the Secretary of the Interior and the Association for Preservation of Virginia Antiquities.
Issue Information
Each Jamestown Silver Dollar is struck from 90% silver to the typical 1.5 inch diameter.
Release Date
The US Mint released the Jamestown Uncirculated Silver Dollar on January 7, 2007.
Issue Price
Initial price on the Uncirculated Jamestown Coin was $35.00.
U.S. Mint Production Facility
The Silver Jamestown Coins were struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia and feature the ‘P’ mintmark.
Designer & Sculptor
Showing the faces of three individuals, the obverse (heads side) of the coin exemplifies the diverse individuals who worked together to make the colony a success. It was designed by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Donna Weaver and sculpted by Don Everhart.
The reverse was designed by United States Mint AIP Master Designer Susan Gamble and sculpted by United States Mint Sculptor-Engraver Charles Vickers and shows the three ships which carried the colonists to Jamestown – the Susan Constant, the Godspeed and the Discovery.
