2007-W $10 Dolley Madison First Spouse Gold Proof Coin
Appearing as the fourth strike of a series honoring the spouses of the former Presidents of the United States was the 2007-W $10 Dolley Madison First Spouse Gold Proof Coin. The coin also marked the final of four coins to be released that year.

The Dolley Madison Coin appeared fourth in the series because her husband, James Madison was the fourth President of the United States and coins in the series are released in the same order upon which the associated President served.
Each First Spouse Gold Coin is struck from 1/2 ounce of 24-karat gold to either proof or uncirculated condition.

Each First Spouse Gold Coin is struck from 1/2 ounce of 24-karat gold (.9999 fine).
Release Date
The US Mint released the Dolley Madison coins on November 19, 2007.
Issue Price
Initial price on the Dolley Madison Proof Coin was $529.95.
U.S. Mint Production Facility
A "W" mintmark on the design indicates that each coin was struck at the US Mint’s facility in West Point.
Designer & Sculptor
The portrait of Dolley Madison found on the obverse (heads side) was designed and sculpted by Don Everhart.
Designed by Joel Iskowitz and sculpted by Don Everhart, the reverse (tails side) shows Dolley Madison in her heroic act of saving important cabinet papers and a painting of George Washington before British troops burned the White House.
