Buyer’s have the choice between a bag containing 100 coins struck to circulation quality at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia or 100 coins struck at the US Mint’s facility in Denver.

These coins represent the fourth issue of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program which debuted in 2010 and feature reverse designs emblematic of select locations found throughout the United States and its territories.

2010 America the Beautiful Quarters

The five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters shown in their correct release order are:

  • 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yellowstone National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Mount Hood National Forest Quarter

As 2010 is the debut year for the program, the Grand Canyon Quarter represents not only the fourth strike for the year, but the fourth strike for the program as well.

Issue Information

Each bag is imprinted with the generic contents label of "U.S. Mint Quarters $25.00." However, a label sewn onto each bag indicates which strike the bag contains and which facility they were produced at.

Release Date

September 2010 is given as the release by the US Mint for the Grand Canyon Quarter bags.

Issue Price

A price has not yet been announced by the US Mint for the 100-coin bags, but the US Mint has been selling the previous releases for $35.95.

Each bag includes 100-circulation quality strikes from the US Mint facility in Denver or the US Mint facility in Philadelphia – buyer’s choice.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

John Flanagan designed the image of George Washington that is found on the obverse (heads side) of the Grand Canyon Quarter. The image of the first President of the United States has been on the quarter since 1932.

Phebe Hemphill designed and sculpted the reverse (tails side) image to be emblematic of the Grand Canyon National Park. It represents a view of the Colorado River as it winds its way through the deep canyon walls of the park.
