2010 Hot Springs National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin

The 2010 Hot Springs National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin will be released by the US Mint as a companion to the circulating Hot Springs America the Beautiful Quarters™ also issued in 2010, with both coins featuring identical designs showcasing the national park which is located in Arkansas.

However, making this strike (as well as the series it belongs to) completely unique is the fact that each bullion coin will be struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a diameter of three inches. The Mint has never before struck a bullion coin to these specifications.

This Hot Springs coin marks the first for the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin™ series which will include a total of fifty-six when it is completed in 2021.

2010 America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins

A total of five silver bullion coins will be issued in 2010 as part of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion series:

  • 2010 Yosemite National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin
  • 2010 Grand Canyon National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin
  • 2010 Mount Hood National Forest 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin

These coins mark the first in a series which debuted in 2010 and will run through 2021 while honoring one site selected from each state, the District of Columbia and the territories of the United States.

Issue Information

The silver bullion coins will be released during the same year in which the circulating quarter dollar featuring an identical design is released.

December 2010 to Mint’s network of authorized purchasers.

Based on current melt value of each coin, plus a small premium.

Designer & Sculptor

As found on the circulating quarter dollars, the obverse (heads side) will feature a portrait of the First President of the United States, George Washington. The design was the original work of John Flanagan.

The reverse (tails side) was designed by Don Everhart and sculpted by Joseph Menna. It showcases the facade of the Hot Springs National Park headquarters building with a thermal fountain featured in front of it.
