Those 100 circulation quality coins will be struck at either the US Mint facility in Denver or the US Mint facility in Philadelphia – buyers choice. Both of these locations are responsible for routinely producing the circulating coinage of the United States.

The Mount Hood Quarter represents the final America the Beautiful Quarter to appear for the year 2010.

2010 America the Beautiful Quarters

The five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters shown in their correct release order are:

  • 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yellowstone National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Mount Hood National Forest Quarter

The Mount Hood strike may be the final quarter to appear in the program for the year, but only marks the fifth for the complete series which will include a total of fifty-six new quarters once finished in 2021.

Issue Information

Each bag will be imprinted with the contents of "U.S. Mint Quarters $25.00." A special label will be sewn onto each bag indicating its specific contents of Mount Hood Quarters and which Mint facility they were produced at.

Release Date

November 2010 is given as the release by the US Mint for the Mount Hood Quarter bags.

Issue Price

A price has not yet been announced by the US Mint for the 100-coin bags, but the US Mint has been selling the previous releases for $35.95.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

The portrait of George Washington, first President of the United States, found on the obverse (heads side) of each America the Beautiful Quarter was originally designed by John Flanagan. It has been used in one form or another on the quarter dollars since 1932.

Phebe Hemphill designed and sculpted the reverse (tails side) design of the Mount Hood Quarter to show the massive mountain in the background. In front of it, Lost Lake is shown.
