2010 United States Mint Silver Proof Set

The 2010 United States Mint Silver Proof Set™ includes proof quality strikes of the fourteen 2010-dated circulating coins. As the name of the set indicates, several of those coins will be struck from silver.

Those coins to be struck from silver include the Kennedy Half Dollar, the Roosevelt Dime and the five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarter™ Dollars. All combined, those seven coins will include a total of 1.34 ounces of silver.

The remaining seven coins will not be struck from silver, but will also feature the proof quality finish which is noted for its enhanced detail and mirror-like background.

Only the nickel, dime and half dollar feature designs that have been seen on a previous year’s issue. The remaining coins all carry designs new for the year of 2010.

Issue Information

All fourteen coins in the set are encased in a protective lens to preserve their finish. Seven coins in the set (the Kennedy Half Dollar, the Roosevelt Dime and the five 2010 America the Beautiful Quarters) are struck from a composition of 90% silver.

Release Date

The US Mint has indicated a release date of August or September 2010 for the Silver Proof Set.

Issue Price

A price has not yet been announced by the US Mint for the Mint Set. Last year’s version sold for $52.95, but included a total of eighteen coins.

U.S. Mint Production Facility

Each coin included in the set is struck at the US Mint’s facility in San Francisco.
