This strike a collector grade version of the US Mint’s Yosemite National Park America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins™ which were struck for investors also from five ounces of .999 fine silver just like this uncirculated coin. Both silver coins are larger versions of the Mint’s Yosemite America the Beautiful Quarter Dollar.
When available, the Yosemite National Park 5 oz Silver Uncirculated Coin will be sold directly to the public by the US Mint. This is in contrast to the bullion coins which are sold through the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers.
2010 America the Beautiful Silver Uncirculated Coins
A total of five 2010-dated America the Beautiful Silver Uncirculated Coins will be issued by the United States Mint:
- 2010 Hot Springs National Park 5 oz Silver Uncirculated Coin
- 2010 Yellowstone National Park 5 oz Silver Uncirculated Coin
- 2010 Yosemite National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Uncirculated Coin
- 2010 Grand Canyon National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Uncirculated Coin
- 2010 Mount Hood National Forest 5 oz Silver Bullion Uncirculated Coin
Struck in the year 2010 with a 2010 date, these coins were not actually issued during that year. Owing to initial production difficulties, the Mint indicated a early 2011 release for the coins.
An extremely limited mintage of only 27,000 coins were struck of these Yosemite Silver Five Ounce Coins.

These coins were struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia and bear the appropriate ‘P’ mintmark.
Designer & Sculptor
A portrait of the First President of the United States, George Washington, is featured on the obverse of all of the America the Beautiful coins. The design was the original work of John Flanagan.
Joseph Menna designed the reverse (tails side) of this Yosemite Silver Coin to show El Capitan, the largest monolith of granite in the world. It was sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.
