Included in each bag are 100 coins struck at either the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia or the US Mint’s facility in Denver – buyer’s choice. All of the circulating coinage for the United States are struck at one of these two locations.

As the third coin ever minted in the program, there have been two preceding it, and will be at least fifty-three following it. Under the terms of the original program, fifty-six total new strikes are to be created.

2010 America the Beautiful Quarters

Five America the Beautiful Quarters are to be released each year with the premier year of 2010 including these following coins (shown in their correct release order) :

  • 2010 Hot Springs National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yellowstone National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Mount Hood National Forest Quarter

Not only does the Yosemite National Park Quarter mark the third strike for the year, but it also signifies the third strike ever under the program which just debuted in 2010.

Issue Information

A label sewn into the closing stitches of each bag specifies the contents included within, namely which strike is included and from which Mint facility. Imprinted on the bag is "US Mint Quarters $25.00".

Each bag includes 100-circulation quality strikes from the US Mint facility in Denver or the US Mint facility in Philadelphia – buyer’s choice.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

The obverse contains a portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States. His image will be found on all of the strikes of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program and has been on the quarter dollar since 1932. The design was originally completed by John Flanagan.

Shown on the reverse of the Yosemite Quarter is an image emblematic of El Capitan, the largest monolith of granite in the world which is found inside the park. It was designed by Joseph Menna and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.
