One of the rolls in the set includes forty circulation quality strikes of the quarter struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia and one roll contains forty circulation quality strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Denver.

When completed, the America the Beautiful Quarters Program will have at least fifty-six new strikes included in it. The legislation that authorized the coins dictates that they are released at a rate of five per year and feature reverse designs emblematic of select national sites found throughout the United States and its territories.

The America the Beautiful Quarters due to be released in 2010 in their specific issue order are:

  • 2010 Yellowstone National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Yosemite National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Grand Canyon National Park Quarter
  • 2010 Mount Hood National Forest Quarter

The Yosemite Quarter not only marks the third coin to appear for the year 2010, but also the third to appear for the series as a whole.

Issue Information

Each roll contains forty circulation quality strikes wrapped in special mint wrapping showing the face value of the contents and the quarter design included in it.

One roll contains forty circulation quality quarters struck at the US Mint’s facility in Denver and one roll contains forty circulation quality quarters struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

John Flanagan’s portrait graces the obverse (heads side) of the Yosemite National Park Quarter. The same basic image has been on the quarter dollar since 1932.

El Capitan, the largest monolith of granite in the world (and located in Yosemite National Park) is found on the reverse (tails side) of the quarter. The design was completed by Joseph Menna and sculpted by Phebe Hemphill.
