2011 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter Two-Roll Set
The 2011 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter Two-Roll Set will include circulation quality strikes of the final of five coins in the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program to be released in 2011.

When completed in 2021, a total of fifty-six new quarters will have been created in the program which debuted in 2010. Each coin in the series features a unique reverse design emblematic of the selected national site. In this instance, the reverse will show a portion of Chickasaw National Recreation Area. Chickasaw was established as Sulphur Springs Reservation in 1902 from 640 acres purchased from the Chickasaw Indian Nation. The partially forested hills of the area are all located in central Oklahoma.
Included in the set is one roll containing 40 circulation quality quarters struck at the US Mint’s facility in Denver and 40 struck in Philadelphia.
2011 America the Beautiful Quarters
The five America the Beautiful Quarters scheduled to be released in 2011 include:
- 2011 Gettysburg National Military Park Quarter representing Pennsylvania
- 2011 Glacier National Park Quarter representing Montana
- 2011 Olympic National Park Quarter representing Washington
- 2011 Vicksburg National Military Park Quarter representing Mississippi
- 2011 Chickasaw National Recreation Area Quarter representing Oklahoma
The US Mint may also release 100-coin bags of the circulation quality Chickasaw Quarters. For the bags, buyers will have the choice of strikes minted at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia or at the US Mint’s facility in Denver.
Issue Information
Each of the two rolls included in the set are wrapped in special mint wrapping. The wrap indicates the contents of Chickasaw Quarters, the face value of the roll – $10 and the mint of origin, ‘D’ for Denver and ‘P’ for Philadelphia.
Release Date
A release date for the Chickasaw Quarter Two-Roll Sets has been set at November 14, 2011 by the US Mint.
Issue Price
No price has been announced by the US Mint, but it has sold previous sets for $35.95.
U.S. Mint Production Facility
One roll will contain 40 circulation quality strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Denver and one roll will contain 40 circulation quality strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.
Designer & Sculptor / Engraver
First appearing on the quarter dollar in 1932, a portrait of George Washington, the first President of the United States, will be featured on the obverse (heads side) of each strike of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program. It is based on the work of John Flanagan.
The reverse was designed by Donna Weaver to show one of the recreation area’s most picturesque locations, the Lincoln Bridge. The reverse was sculpted by Jim Licaretz.
