Each five ounce – three inch coin will honor the park which was originally established as the Sieur de Monts National Monument in 1916. Located in Maine, the park is well-known both for its scenery as well as its over 50 miles of carriage trails originally funded with the help of John D. Rockefeller, Jr.

Like the other strikes of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin® Program, the Acadia coin will be minted from five ounces of .999 fine silver. Obverse and reverse designs for this coin will be identical to those found on the circulating Acadia National Park Quarter Dollar, also issued in 2012.

Issue Information

The US Mint will release each America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin during the same year as it releases the circulating America the Beautiful Quarter Dollar.

Release Date

The US Mint has not yet announced a release date for the Acadia Silver Bullion Coin.

Issue Price

The Mint will not sell the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins directly to the public, but will use its network of authorized purchasers – just as it does for all of its bullion products. Price will be determined by the current spot price of the five ounces of silver contained within each strike, plus a small premium for minting and distribution costs.

U.S. Mint Production Facility

The US Mint has not yet announced a minting facility for the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins, and as a bullion piece, it will likely not carry a mintmark. That being said, the Mint installed the equipment necessary for striking each piece at its facility in Philadelphia.

Designer & Sculptor

All of the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins will feature an image of the first President of the United States, George Washington, on their obverse (heads side). Identical to the design found on the circulating quarter dollar, the portrait was originally designed by John Flanagan for the 1932 quarter.

A portion of Acadia National Park will be showcased on the reverse (tails side) of the silver bullion coin. No specific design information is known, as of yet.
