Located along the border between North Carolina and Tennessee, the Great Smoky Mountains National Park was officially chartered by Congress in 1934, but did not receive an official dedication until 1940. With an elevation change within the park of over 5,700 feet, it is not hard to imagine that the park would offer many different recreational opportunities. Among them are hiking, fishing, bird-watching, etc.

The US Mint will package 100 circulation quality Great Smoky Mountains Quarters in each bag. Buyers will have the choice of a bag containing strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia or the US Mint’s facility in Denver.
