Blue Ridge Parkway consists of over 469 miles of scenic roadway located in both Virginia and North Carolina with a majority of it in the latter state. Construction of the Parkway started in the 1930′s as one of many national works projects. The Parkway today is said to be the most visited unit of any in the National Park System with millions taking in its views annually.

Each Blue Ridge Silver Bullion Coin will be struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a massive diameter of three inches making them the largest bullion coin issued by the US Mint. The obverse and reverse designs of the coin will be identical to the designs found on the circulating Blue Ridge Parkway Quarter Dollar that are issued as part of the Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters® Program.
