Each coin in the set represents the Cumberland Gap National Historical Park which is located in the state of West Virginia. Robert Harper established a ferry business on the site in the 1700′s. Following that, the location continued to be important to American History owing to an armory that was built there. That armory not only supplied the famous Lewis and Clark Expedition, but also was fought over several times between Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War.

The Mint wraps each roll in special Mint wrapping indicating which facility the circulating coins were struck at – a P for Philadelphia or a D for Denver.
