George Rogers Clark (older brother of the perhaps more famous William Clark of Lewis and Clark fame) was sent with a company of men by the colony of Virginia to protect its interests in the Old Northwest during the American Revolutionary War. Clark successfully led his men to defeats over British forces several times resulting in that section of the frontier remaining under American control.

Each roll is wrapped in special Mint wrapping. An initial on each roll indicates whether the strikes contained within were struck at the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia or the US Mint’s facility in Denver.
