Ozark was initially established in the state of Missouri in 1964 as the first river system protected in such a fashion. Seeing an estimated 1.5 million visitors annually, the 80,000 acres found within the Riverways borders offer activities such as boating, canoeing, camping, fishing and hunting.

America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins feature obverse and reverse designs identical to the related America the Beautiful Quarters® Program but will struck to a massive diameter of three inches. Each will be composed of five ounces of .999 fine silver.

  • 2017 Frederick Douglass National Historic Site 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Washington D.C.
  • 2017 Ozark National Scenic Riverways 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Missouri
  • 2017 Ellis Island National Monument (Statue of Liberty) 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing New Jersey
  • 2017 George Rogers Clark National Historical Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Indiana

These strikes are the thirty-sixth through fortieth of the program which debuted in 2010 and will run through 2021.

Issue Information

2017 marks the eighth year for the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin Program.

Release Date

The US Mint should release the Ozark National Scenic Riverways in mid-2017.

Issue Price

A small premium above the current spot price of the silver contained within them will be added to the cost of each America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin when they are sold by the Mint’s network of authorized purchasers.

U.S. Mint Production Facility

Mintmarks are not typically struck on bullion coins, but only the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia received the special equipment required for striking the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion strikes.

Designer & Sculptor

George Washington, first President of the United States, will be featured on the obverse (heads side) of the America the Beautiful Coins. The portrait was first seen on the 1932 circulating quarter dollar and was designed by John Flanagan.

The reverse (tails side) of the coin will showcase a portion of the Ozark National Scenic Riverways.
