The third of five roll sets to be issued in 2017 as part of the US Mint’s America the Beautiful Quarters™ Program will be the 2017 Ozark National Scenic Riverways Quarter Rolls.

Ozark is located in the state of Missouri and protects an area around the Jacks Fork and Current Rivers. The riverways was established by an Act of Congress in 1964 and had its official dedication in 1971. Today, the riverways encompasses an area of 80,000 acres and offers visitors multiple recreational activities such as boating, camping, fishing, hunting and hiking.

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program debuted in 2010 and will have fifty-six new strikes created as part of it by the time it is completed in 2021.

2017 America the Beautiful Quarters

Five America the Beautiful Quarters are scheduled to be released by the US Mint annually. Those scheduled to be issued in 2017 are:

  • 2017 Effigy Mounds National Monument Quarter representing Iowa
  • 2017 Frederick Douglass National Historic Site Quarter representing the District of Columbia
  • 2017 Ozark National Scenic Riverways Quarter representing Missouri
  • 2017 Ellis Island National Monument (Statue of Liberty) Quarter representing New Jersey
  • 2017 George Rogers Clark National Historical Park Quarter representing Indiana

The America the Beautiful Quarters Program will be in its thirty-eighth release with the issue of the Ozark Quarter.

Issue Information

The Mint will wrap each roll in special Mint wrapping. That wrapping will indicate the face value of the rolls ($10) as well as the specific strikes contained within (Ozark Quarters) and the Minting facility responsible for striking them (P for Philadelphia or D for Denver).

Honored State or Territory

The state of Missouri is represented by the Ozark Quarters. Missouri was admitted to the Union on August 10, 1821, the 24th state to do so.

Release Date

The US Mint has not announced a release date for the Ozark Quarter products.

Issue Price

An issue price for the Ozark Quarter Rolls has not been announced by the US Mint.

U.S. Mint Production Facility

One roll in the set will contain strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Denver and one roll will contain strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

A portrait of George Washington, first President of the United States, is featured on the obverse (heads side) of all of the America the Beautiful coins. It was first used on the 1932 circulating quarter dollar and was designed by John Flanagan.

The reverse (tails side) of the Ozark quarter will feature a portion of the historic site.
