2018 Apostle Islands National Lakeshore 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin
The 2018 Apostle Islands National Lakeshore Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin will be the second of five America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin® Program strikes to appear in 2018 from the United States Mint.

Located in Wisconsin, Apostle Islands National Lakeshore preserves and protects 12 miles of mainland along with 21 islands. Visitors to the area who come for the scenery, camping, boating, etc. are treated to old growth forests, sandstone sea caves and several historic lighthouses.
Each silver bullion coin will feature obverse and reverse imagery identical to what will be found on the sister America the Beautiful Quarters®, also issued by the US Mint. However, the silver bullion coins will be much larger as they will be struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a diameter of three inches.

A total of five America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins will be issued by the US Mint in 2018:
- 2018 Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Michigan
- 2018 Apostle Islands National Lakeshore 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Wisconsin
- 2018 Voyageurs National Park 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Minnesota
- 2018 Cumberland Island National Seashore 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Georgia
- 2018 Block Island National Wildlife Refuge 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin representing Rhode Island
These five coins shown above mark the forty-first through forty-fifth of the program.
Issue Information
The America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin Program will be in its ninth year with the release of the 2018 strikes.
Release Date
The US Mint has not announced a release date for the Apostle Islands Coin.
Issue Price
Bullion coins are sold by the Mint’s network for a small premium above the current spot price of the precious metals contained within them to cover minting and distribution costs.
U.S. Mint Production Facility
The only location to receive the special equipment required for striking the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins is the US Mints facility in Philadelphia. However, mintmarks are not typically struck on bullion coins.
Designer & Sculptor
First featured on the circulating 1932 quarter dollar, an image of George Washington, first President of the United States, will be shown on the obverse (heads side) of each America the Beautiful Coin.
The reverse (tails side) of the Apostle Islands Coin will showcase a portion of the national lakeshore.
