Found in the state of Rhode Island, Block Island National Wildlife Refuge only consists of 127 acres. However, as many of the surrounding land-owners also see the value of protecting the natural resources of the area, it serves as a haven for many creatures including an estimated 70 species of migratory songbirds which stop here every fall.

Issues as a companion series to the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters® Program, each silver bullion coin contains the same obverse and reverse imagery as found on those quarters. However, the bullion coins massive diameter of three inches differentiates them quite nicely from the smaller circulating strikes.
