Created in 1971, Voyageurs is located in northern Minnesota. The national park is one of the most unique in the nation owing to its landscape which consists of over 500 islands and 655 miles of shoreline. To truly appreciate the scope of the park, visitors must take to the water during most of the year.

The silver bullion coins were created as a companion to the circulating America the Beautiful Quarters®, also issued by the US Mint, and will contain imagery on their obverse and reverse identical to each-other. Making the bullion coins quite unique, however, is the fact that each will be struck from five ounces of .999 fine silver.

Issue Information

2018 is the ninth year in which the US Mint will have produced the America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin Program.

Release Date

A release date for the Voyageurs Coin has not yet been announced by the US Mint.

Issue Price

Production and distribution costs are part of the small premium above the current spot price of the five ounces of silver contained within each America the Beautiful strike that the US Mint’s network of authorized purchasers will add to the sale of each coin.

U.S. Mint Production Facility

America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coins require special equipment for the production owing to their size with the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia being the only location to receive the upgrade. However, bullion coins for the Mint do not typically carry a mintmark.

Designer & Sculptor

A portrait of the first President of the United States, George Washington, will be featured on the obverse (heads side) of all of the America the Beautiful Coins. That same likeness was first used on the 1932 circulating quarter dollar and has been on the quarter in one form or another ever since. It was designed by John Flanagan.

A portion of Voyageurs National Park will be shown on the reverse (tails side) of the coin.
