Located in Massachusetts, Lowell was only established in 1978 as a mechanism to re-vitalize an area that once thrived. Originally a planned community, Lowell grew around the textile industry during the industrial revolution only to be neglected in later years when over-seas competition forced the factories to close.

Each Lowell Silver Bullion Coin will be struck from five ounces to the massive diameter of three inches making the entire America the Beautiful Silver Coin series the largest bullion products of the US Mint. Obverse and reverse designs on the strikes will be identical to those found on the sister series of circulating America the Beautiful Quarters®.
