Located in the U.S. Virgin Islands, Salt River Bay was designed with two things in mind – protect some of the best natural resources found in the islands as well as preserve some of the most historic locations. Mangrove forests, an underwater canyon, caverns, grottoes, ledges, and caves are all included in the protected area as well as the only area of land ever stepped upon by members of the Christopher Columbus expedition that is now part of a United States territory.

The US Mint will strike each America the Beautiful Silver Bullion Coin from five ounces of .999 fine silver to a diameter of three inches. An edge incused inscription will show the coins weight and fineness.
