Coins in the bag represent the Weir Farm National Historic Site which is located in the state of Connecticut. Established in 1990, the historic site preserves the farm and studio of American Impressionist painter J. Alden Weir. The painter not only worked at this location himself, but also offered the farm as a sort of retreat for fellow artists during his lifetime.

Buyers will have the choice of 100 circulation quality strikes from either the US Mint’s facility in Denver or the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.

2020 America the Beautiful Quarters

Five America the Beautiful Quarter Dollars will be issued by the US Mint in 2020. Those five are:

  • 2020 National Park of American Samoa America the Beautiful Quarter representing American Samoa
  • 2020 Weir Farm America the Beautiful Quarter representing Connecticut
  • 2020 Salt River Bay America the Beautiful Quarter representing the U.S. Virgin Islands
  • 2020 Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller America the Beautiful Quarter representing Vermont
  • 2020 Tallgrass Prairie America the Beautiful Quarter representing Kansas

The program will be in its fifty-second release with the debut of the Weir Farm Quarter.

Issue Information

"U.S. MINT QUARTERS $25.00" will be imprinted on each bag with a special label sewn onto the bag indicating the specific Weir Quarter Dollars within.

Honored State or Territory

The Weir Farm quarters represent the state of Connecticut. Connecticut was the 5th state to join the Union when it entered on January 9, 1788.

Designer & Sculptor / Engraver

A portrait of George Washington will be found on the obverse (heads side) of all the America the Beautiful coins. It was designed by John Flanagan and was first used on the 1932 circulating quarter dollar.

The reverse (tails side) of the quarter will showcase a portion of the Weir Farm National Historic Site.
