The Weir Farm National Historic Site was established in 1990 to preserve the farm and studio of American Impressionist Painter J. Alden Weir. Born in 1852 and dying in 1919, Weir was considered one of the most famous Impressionist painters of his time. In order to remove himself from some of that limelight, Weir purchased the farm in Connecticut and setup his studio there. Weir also welcomed other artists to the farm as sort of a retreat.

Included in each set will be two rolls of Weir Farm Quarters. One will contain strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Denver and one roll will contain strikes from the US Mint’s facility in Philadelphia.
